Jiajing of Ming Dynasty
In the 43rd year of Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty, YouAnMen gate was built in the southwest of Beijing to protect the city's health. In the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, mayor Peng Zhen visited YouAnMen gate in person and planned to build the second infectious diseases hospital in Beijing. Its building scale and discipline setting are the first in Asia. It was renamed as Beijing You'an Hospital in 1989. In 2003, it became the chairman unit of Beijing You'an Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University, the ninth Clinical Medical College of Capital Medical University and the Department of infectious diseases of Capital Medical University.
